# Zapier

> Connect Unsora to Zapier to clip long videos, generate AI media, and schedule social posts from your Zaps with your API key.

The Unsora app for [Zapier](https://zapier.com) lets your Zaps clip long
videos, generate AI video, images, music, and voiceovers, and schedule posts
to your connected social accounts. It uses the same [Unsora API](https://tryunsora.com/docs/api-guide.md)
as the web app, authenticated with your API key.

## What you need

* An Unsora account. Sign up at [tryunsora.com](https://tryunsora.com).
* An Unsora API key. Create one at
  [app.tryunsora.com/api-keys](https://app.tryunsora.com/api-keys). Keys start
  with `uns_`.
* Credits for clipping and generation. Posting needs a paid plan and at least
  one social account connected in the [Unsora web app](https://app.tryunsora.com).

## Connect Unsora

1. In the Zap editor, add a step and search for **Unsora**.
2. Pick a trigger, action, or search, then select **Sign in**.
3. Paste your API key into **API Key** and select **Yes, Continue**. Leave
   **Base URL** as it is.

Zapier tests the key and labels the connection with your credit balance.
Your connected social accounts, voices, and models then load into the
dropdowns.

> Connect social accounts in the Unsora web app. The Zapier app reads them,
> but it can't add new ones.

## Triggers

The Unsora API doesn't send webhooks, so these triggers poll on your Zapier
plan's update interval. Each item triggers once.

**Create Post** takes your accounts from a dropdown, a caption, and a video,
images, or no media for a text-only post (Media Type **None (text post)**). Turn on **Show Platform Options** to set TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest,
and Google Business options.

Actions that spend credits accept an optional **Idempotency Key**. If a Zap
replays with the same key, Unsora returns the original job instead of
charging again.

## Use results from clipping and generation

Zapier steps must finish in about 30 seconds, but clipping and generation
take longer. Create actions return the job ID and status `QUEUED` right away.
To use the result, pick one of these patterns:

* **Second Zap (recommended).** Zap 1 runs **Create Clipping** or a
  generation action. Zap 2 starts with **Clipping Completed** or
  **Generation Completed** and uses the result.
* **Delay in the same Zap.** After the create action, add *Delay by Zapier*,
  then **Find Clipping** or **Get Generation Status**, then a *Filter* that
  continues only when `status` is `COMPLETED`.

## Example Zaps

* **YouTube to TikTok on autopilot.** *YouTube: New Video in Channel* →
  **Create Clipping** (9:16, captions on). Second Zap: **Clipping Completed**
  → *Looping by Zapier* over the clips → **Create Post** with each clip URL.
* **Podcast drop to Shorts.** *Google Drive: New File in Folder* → **Upload
  File** → **Create Clipping** with the upload's URL.
* **Failure alerts.** **Post Failed** → *Slack: Send Channel Message* with
  the caption and each account's error.
* **Low-credit warning.** *Schedule by Zapier* → **Get Credits** with
  **Minimum Credits** → *Email by Zapier*.

## Troubleshooting

**The connection test fails.** Check that you pasted the whole key, starting
with `uns_`, and that it hasn't been revoked at
[app.tryunsora.com/api-keys](https://app.tryunsora.com/api-keys).

**An action fails because you're out of credits.** Run **Get Credits** or top
up in the [web app](https://app.tryunsora.com).

**A post fails with `PLAN_REQUIRED` (HTTP 403).** Scheduling and publishing
need a paid plan.

**A step is throttled.** Each API key allows 60 requests per minute. Zapier
retries throttled steps automatically.

**Upload File fails on a large file.** Zapier holds the whole file in memory.
For files over about 50 MB, host the file and use **Upload From URL**.

**An account is missing from the dropdown.** Connect it in the Unsora web
app, then select **Refresh fields**.
